How to update a modded game without losing progress

Update inside the CroakerMod app
When a new mod version is ready, the CroakerMod app shows an update for that game. Install it from the app — the update replaces only the game files, so your mods, settings, and progress carry over. Updating inside the app also keeps your license and install state in sync.
Never uninstall first
Uninstalling deletes the game’s local data on Android, including guest progress and offline saves. An update installed over the existing game preserves that data because the package and signature stay the same. If storage is tight, clear cache or move photos first — not the game.
Back up before big updates
Major game patches sometimes reset local files or conflict with older mods. Before a big update, make sure cloud save is enabled where the game supports it, or back up locally (see our backup guide). A two-minute backup beats replaying twenty hours.
When an update needs a fresh mod build
If the game itself patched (new season, new version number), the old mod may stop working until we ship a matching build. CroakerMod flags the game as outdated and notifies you when the new build is ready. Your license covers updates — no repurchase.
